A Mini Precision designed to capture the "P-Bass" spirit in a smaller size
The Squier Mini Precision Bass adopts the aesthetic codes and sonic DNA of the Precision Bass, in a lighter, shorter, and more portable instrument. Its thin poplar body and simple design (single pickup, no switch) go straight to the point: the familiar "Precision" tone, with maximum comfort and minimal bulk.
Who is it for, and what styles?
Thanks to its short scale, this bass is especially suitable for beginners, musicians looking for a physically more accessible instrument, or guitarists wanting to switch to bass without struggling with a standard neck length. In terms of styles, the split pickup performs well in rock, pop, punk, indie, and groove: a simple-to-adjust sound, effective in a mix.
The sound
The Split Single-Coil Precision Bass pickup delivers a clear attack, solid low mids, and a naturally "centered" sound typical of P-style basses. The Volume / Tone pair allows you to go from a clear and precise sound (tone control open) to a rounder, more muted register (tone control closed), very useful for accompanying without taking up too much space. The short 28.6" / 726 mm scale length provides a softer playing feel under the fingers, often with a rounder and more immediate response.
