Essential Information About the Sterling Cutlass CT50XHSS Aqua Grey Guitar

  • HSS Configuration (humbucker at the bridge + single coils at the neck/middle) with a 5-position selector to cover everything from crisp cleans to more powerful tones.

  • Built-in Push/Push Volume Boost: quick access to extra volume for solos and parts that need to stand out.

  • 3-piece roasted maple neck, bolt-on, designed for stable and responsive playability on a daily basis.

  • Locking tuners and vintage tremolo: more stable tuning and expressive vibratos, in the "Strat" spirit.

A Cutlass CT50 "Series X": The Modern Evolution of a Classic

Inspired by the success of the glossy finishes of the Cutlass CT50HSS, this CT50XHSS version expands the range with a more modern approach: pickups advertised as boosted and a push/push control to gain impact without losing the Cutlass DNA. It features the familiar Stratocaster ergonomics, enhanced with stage-oriented equipment like locking tuners.

Who Is It For, and Which Styles?

The Sterling Cutlass CT50XHSS is aimed at beginner to intermediate guitarists who want a versatile electric guitar, but also at more advanced musicians looking for a modern "Strat" ready to play. The HSS configuration allows tackling pop, funk, blues, rock, and alternative rock: single coils for clear and dynamic rhythms, humbucker at the bridge for thicker riffs and leads that cut through the mix.

The Sound

The poplar body provides a balanced and accessible response with good definition, ideal for enjoying the nuances of an HSS setup. The Sterling single-coil pickups (neck and middle) favor attack and clarity, perfect for crystalline tones, arpeggios, and the intermediate positions on the 5-way selector. The bridge humbucker boosts output level and harmonic thickness for overdriven sounds and solos. The push/push Volume Boost adds real comfort in playing: one push, and your sound cuts through, without changing your basic settings.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

This guitar comes stock with Ernie Ball 2221 Regular Slinky strings: to maintain the same feel, you can stick with this gauge when replacing. For other accessories (gig bag, case, strap, Strap Locks system), compatibility depends on exact dimensions and attachment format: to be confirmed according to the chosen model.
