Syos Steady 5 Black (Alto Sax)

The Steady, the versatile mouthpiece in the Syos Originals collection

The Syos Originals Steady is part of a range of mouthpieces designed to make the alto saxophone more intuitive and expressive. Developed by Syos, a renowned French manufacturer known for its acoustic approach and contemporary design, this model prioritizes a sound balance that is easy to control. The Originals collection is aimed at musicians looking for a mouthpiece that can support them over time, from their first rehearsals to live performances.

With the Steady, Syos focuses on balanced internal geometry rather than an overly distinctive character. The result is an alto saxophone mouthpiece with a stable response and a rich, full sound that retains clarity without becoming aggressive. Originals mouthpieces are designed and manufactured in Paris, using 3D printing technology specifically developed for the acoustics of wind instruments.

An alto saxophone mouthpiece to help you progress without limitations

Thanks to its 5 tip opening and flexible response, the Syos Steady is particularly well suited to beginner saxophonists, conservatory students and intermediate musicians looking for greater playing comfort. It provides a solid foundation for working on note attacks, breath stability, articulation and dynamics, without requiring an excessively strong embouchure.

More experienced saxophonists will also appreciate its even response and great versatility. This mouthpiece can find its place in jazz, big band, pop, funk, rock, French popular music and crossover projects. It also allows you to play ballads with warmth, while retaining enough projection and definition to perform in an ensemble or on an amplified stage.

A balanced, flexible and expressive sound

The Steady's character is based on a search for balance between warmth and brightness. Its rounded baffle guides the air progressively, helping to maintain a focused, clear sound. The large chamber adds breadth to the tone, promotes a sense of flexibility and helps produce a generous sound without losing control of intonation.

This design contributes to a well-balanced response across the low, middle and high registers. The low register retains density, the middle register remains full and singing, while the high notes maintain brilliance without excess. The 5 tip opening provides moderate resistance, which is useful for clear articulation, shaping the sound and developing nuanced expression. The Pitch Black color highlights the mouthpiece's modern design while retaining an elegant and understated aesthetic.
