Part of the Legacy collection, the Taylor Legacy 815e pays tribute to Bob Taylor's earliest inspirations while incorporating modern refinements. Overseen by Bob himself, it carries the DNA of the historic American Dream Jumbos: a broad silhouette, understated and elegant craftsmanship, and aesthetic details inspired by the early 800 series. The first 100 guitars of each model feature an interior label signed by Bob Taylor and Kurt Listug, symbolizing half a century of innovation.

The Legacy 815e is aimed at intermediate to expert guitarists seeking a high-end acoustic for fingerstyle, energetic strumming, and flatpicking. Its Jumbo format provides the perfect foundation for modern folk, pop, country, or acoustic rock, both on stage and in the studio.

Sound

Indian rosewood delivers deep lows, sparkling highs, and rich harmonics, while the Sitka spruce top provides attack, clarity, and dynamic reserve. The X-bracing, inherited from pre-Andy Powers Dreadnoughts/Jumbos, produces a full and responsive "vintage" tone. Combined with the large body volume, this results in wide projection, long sustain, and excellent note definition, even in alternate tunings.

To protect and optimize your 815e: leather strap with classic attachments, soundhole humidifier and hygrometer, microfiber cloth and silicone-free polish for glossy finishes, as well as D'Addario XS Coated Phosphor Bronze Medium string sets (same gauge as original). A floor or wall stand with protective coating will preserve the finish during storage.
