A modern reference for compact delay: the Flashback spirit, Mini and MASH version
The Flashback has established itself as a reliable choice for guitarists who want to go from a discreet slapback to ambient soundscapes without unnecessary complexity. This Flashback 2 Mini version retains the DNA of the range (versatility, musicality, simplicity) while adding a more "instrumental" approach to control thanks to MASH : your foot becomes a true expression controller, with no external pedal needed. The palette also expands with next-generation algorithms focused on more organic analog and tape textures, and a Crystal delay tailored for modern atmospheres.
For whom, for which styles, and in what context?
The Flashback 2 Mini is aimed both at guitarists looking for a serious first delay and experienced musicians wanting a reliable and ultra-compact pedal for touring. In blues and rock, it excels with short, round, and dynamic repeats. In pop, indie, and worship, longer delays and the Crystal mode help fill the space without muddying the playing. For fans of ambient and textures, MASH allows you to evolve a parameter (level, feedback, modulation, etc.) live, ideal for swells, transitions, and build-ups.
It works very well in front of an amp as well as in an effects loop, convenient if you want to keep clean repeats even with amp saturation.
Controls, modes, and highlights: simple on the surface, deep inside
Setup is immediate thanks to its 3 essential potentiometers : Delay (time), Feedback (number of repeats), and Level (effect level). The footswitch manages the bypass, and its secondary functions add real value on stage: Tap Tempo to lock the tempo on the fly, and MASH to control one or more parameters by pressure, like an expression pedal.
On the creative side, the pedal is TonePrint : you can transfer presets and design your own delays via the editor (computer and mobile). The Crystal mode relies on a polyphonic octave engine for airy, harmonized repeats, perfect for shimmering pads. Finally, the Flashback 2 Mini combines true bypass and Analog-Dry-Through to preserve your signal integrity: the "dry" sound remains analog, and the effect is cleanly layered on top.
Sound
The Flashback 2 Mini aims for a signature that is both musical and usable in a band context. The Analog and Tape algorithms offer rounder repeats, with just the right amount of grain and natural degradation to avoid the overly clinical "digital copy" effect. You get delays that sit behind the playing without overpowering it and remain clear even with generous feedback settings.
MASH adds a very "live" dimension: by pressing more or less, you can inflate the feedback, open the level, or accentuate modulation depending on the loaded TonePrint. The result: a mini-format pedal capable of going from discreet delay to spectacular moment, while remaining intuitive and quick to dial in.

Questions frequently asked
Does the Flashback 2 Mini have tap tempo and expression control?
The footswitch includes the Tap Tempo and MASH functions. Pressing it can control a parameter of the loaded TonePrint, such as level, feedback, or modulation.
What power supply is required for this delay pedal?
A 9 V DC 100 mA power supply with a 5.5 x 2.1 mm barrel plug and center-negative polarity is required. No power adapter is included, and battery operation is not supported.
Can it be used in an amp effects loop?
Its 6.35 mm jack input and output allow use as an amp input or in an effects loop. The dry signal benefits from Analog-Dry-Through, while repeats remain processed by the effect.
What delay sounds are available with the Flashback 2 Mini?
The Analog and Tape algorithms produce warm repeats with natural degradation. The Crystal mode uses a polyphonic octave engine to create harmonized repeats.
How are TonePrints loaded or edited?
The Mini-B USB connection enables editing and management of TonePrints. Presets can be transferred and custom delays can be designed via the editor on computer or mobile. The enclosure measures 41 x 90 x 50 mm and weighs 200 g.
