Questions frequently asked
Can the Twisted Electrons therapKid play two notes at the same time?
The maximum polyphony is 2 voices in duophonic mode, allowing two notes to be played simultaneously. Monophonic mode allows stacking of sound sources.
What sounds can be created with the 8 oscillators of the therapKid?
The 2 voices each have 4 oscillators, totaling 8 oscillators that can be tuned independently. This configuration enables creating internal chords, natural detuning, and rich drones.
What type of filter does this synthesizer have?
A hybrid multimode filter inspired by the 6581 and 8580 circuits offers low-pass, high-pass, band-pass, and notch modes. Its resonance and rough character are particularly suited for acid basses and lo-fi textures.
Does the therapKid include an arpeggiator and modulation options?
A multi-mode arpeggiator is integrated, featuring a dual LFO with many quick connections. A ring modulator also allows producing metallic timbres, bells, or aggressive leads.
How to connect the therapKid to a computer or a MIDI sequencer?
The USB-MIDI connection enables integration with a DAW, master keyboard, or sequencer. MIDI inputs and outputs on minijack are also available via a 3.5 mm to DIN5 adapter.
