While many reamp boxes rely on a single path, United combines here two transformer-based topologies, born from extensive experimentation and real-world studio feedback, allowing instant switching from a neutral sound to a thicker, more expressive response.

Who is the UT Replay Box for? From clean reamping to creative reamping

The UT Replay Box is ideal if you record DI and want to reamp later to choose the right amp, drive pedal, or mic setting without re-recording. Guitarists and bassists benefit from a fast and reliable workflow, while producers and sound designers can send synth, drum, vocal, foley tracks or stems to amps, pedals, and external processors to create texture and depth.

In practice, you start from a line output (balanced or unbalanced) of your interface, DAW, or outboard gear, and get an isolated unbalanced output suitable for an amp or effects chain input. Phase inversion and Ground Lift secure sessions: fewer surprises in the low end and much less risk of hum when multiple devices are connected.

Two modes, immediate control over level, tone, and operational silence

"Transparent" Mode: precision, headroom, and the purest possible path

The "Transparent" mode is designed to preserve attack, transients, and tonal balance during the "line level to instrument level" conversion. Its custom 5043 transformer (made in the USA) targets high isolation and exemplary noise rejection, with a passive gain of about +3 dB. The key point for engineers: the "Transparent" path remains without active circuitry to maintain a clean, stable signal that's easy to place in demanding mixes.

"Harmonic" Mode: density, grain, and a "mix-ready" feel

When the goal is not just to reamp but to add character, the "Harmonic" mode comes into play. Its transformer is wound for a steeper gain structure, with deliberately more colored behavior: added harmonics, slight phase rotation in the extreme low end, and a gradual smoothing of very high frequencies. The result: more present low mids and a source that "cuts through" more easily, particularly effective on guitars, basses, or synth textures lacking body.
