Apollo Twin X Gen2: an evolution focused on monitoring
The Apollo Twin X Gen2 retains the approach that defines the Apollo family: combining an audio interface, studio processing and monitoring control in a desktop unit. Compared with the first Twin X, this generation notably benefits from improved digital-to-analog conversion. The QUAD version features four DSP processors, compared with two in the DUO, providing more resources for compatible UAD processing.
For recording solo, producing and mixing without leaving your desk
This Thunderbolt audio interface is particularly well suited to singer-songwriters, vocalists, guitarists and producers who build their tracks one layer at a time. It also allows for a more extensive setup thanks to its optical digital input. Whether recording vocals and instruments, adding overdubs or mixing a production, its compact format keeps essential controls within easy reach.
From color to recording, from precision to mixing
Unison: shaping the sound from the input stage
Unison technology combines the physical preamps with compatible emulations to reproduce their behavior, including their impedance and gain structure. This allows you to choose a color during recording rather than leaving every decision until the mixing stage. Additional preamp emulations remain subject to the licenses you own: compatibility with the UAD ecosystem does not mean that the entire catalog is included.
A virtual console to keep the session moving
UAD Console brings together routing, cue mixes and input processing. Auto-Gain makes level adjustment easier, while plug-in scenes let you quickly recall different configurations. Real-time processing via Console should be distinguished from using plug-ins in the DAW, where latency also depends on the audio buffer size.
Monitoring tailored to mixing decisions
The integrated controller makes it easy to compare monitoring sources, check in mono and communicate with a performer using talkback. Compatibility with Apollo Monitor Correction by Sonarworks also allows you to correct the main and headphone outputs. This feature requires SoundID Reference software and, for measuring speakers, a compatible measurement microphone.
Analog Classics: a palette for shaping your productions
The Analog Classics bundle brings together complementary tools: tube preamplification, compression, equalization, tape, echo and reverb. Processing tools such as the LA-2A, 1176, Pultec Legacy equalizers, Oxide and Pure Plate let you move from a clean recording to a more crafted sound. The included virtual instruments and amplifiers complete this palette for arranging and creative work.
