Customer reviews
What customers say
Summarized and selected by AI from recent customer reviews
These signature drumsticks are highly regarded by customers for their clear, dynamic sound and excellent balance. Reviewers praised the "stunning clarity" and responsive feel, particularly for studio work. They're light and well-balanced but may not suit heavy metal drummers. Some noted nylon tips can detach, recommending wooden tips instead.

Very light and relatively long... slightly shorter than American Classic® 5A.
They produce a clear, dynamic sound, they're well balanced, pretty responsive and perfect for studio work, but they don't produce the loud thundering sound you'd probably be after if you were say, a metal drummer... plus they'd probably beak if you continuously bash your cymbals.
I'd also recommend buying the wooden tip version of these as the ends tend to come off of the nylon one's.
All in all these are one of my favourite sticks ! -

Questions frequently asked
Are the Vic Firth SSG Steve Gadd Signature sticks suitable for funk and jazz?
This model is suitable for groove, pop, funk, jazz, and fusion. Its long taper helps articulate ghost notes on the snare drum while maintaining body in the rimshots.
What is the size of the Steve Gadd Signature sticks?
The total length is 40 cm with a diameter of 1.4 cm.
What sound does the wooden barrel tip produce?
The barrel tip narrows the contact point on the cymbals. It promotes precise definition on the ride cymbal and a pronounced attack on the bell.
Do the SSG sticks leave marks on cymbals?
The black finish is applied to the shaft, while the wooden tip remains natural and uncolored. This design aims to prevent marks on striking surfaces. The model does not feature an added grip.
Why is pairing by weight and pitch useful?
Pairing by weight and pitch ensures a consistent feel between the two sticks. Hickory provides a precise attack and absorbs some of the vibrations.
