A Major Evolution in the Legend '70s Range

The Legend '70s MKII Compact is a modernized take on a concept already appreciated by keyboard players: recapturing the soul of vintage keyboards in a contemporary digital instrument that is more reliable, practical and customizable. This MKII version takes the idea even further with increased processing power, a premium wooden construction and a platform designed to accommodate future developments.

Its positioning is clear: it is aimed at musicians looking for a stage piano with a distinctive look, capable of covering electric, acoustic and synth sounds while retaining a genuine live performance focus. Thanks to its module-based system, it can evolve with your repertoire, studio requirements or stage setup.

Keyboard Design

Equipped with a 73-key TP110 piano keyboard, this model offers an excellent compromise between expressiveness, footprint and portability. This shorter format than a traditional 88-note keyboard is particularly well suited to cramped stages, multi-keyboard setups and musicians who want to preserve a serious playing feel without moving to an overly bulky instrument. The keyboard response encourages nuanced control, making it equally useful for electric piano sounds, acoustic piano parts and vintage keyboard sounds.

The premium wooden construction, combined with a black metal chassis and mahogany-painted side panels, reinforces the feel of a high-end instrument. The new aluminium knobs provide a more direct and reassuring hands-on experience, especially during quick changes in concert.

Sound Quality

The audio core is built around a new dual-DSP main architecture, designed to provide greater power, fluidity and processing options. This evolution enables the MKII Compact to take a major step forward in terms of responsiveness and expandability, with more ambitious management of programs and future modules. The Electric Piano module is included as standard, while several additional modules can further expand the instrument: A. Piano 2G, FM Synth, Synth-8, Sound Collection and Clavi.

The onboard memory stores 384 programs across 24 banks of 16 programs, allowing you to prepare complete stage setups. Polyphony varies depending on the module: full polyphony for the Electric Piano and Clavi, and 128 voices for the Acoustic Piano and Sound Collection module. This approach optimizes the sound according to the type of sounds being used, with a clear focus on performance and layering timbres.

Built-In Effects

  • Reverbs: room, hall, stage, plate, spring, tape
  • Modulation: tremolo, vibrato, chorus, flanger, phaser
  • Character effects: wah-wah, amp simulations, rotary
  • Time-based and dynamics processing: delay, equalizers, compressor

Educational Functions

Although designed for stage and performance, the Legend '70s MKII Compact remains highly practical for everyday use. The split function lets you divide the keyboard into several playing zones, while transpose makes it easy to adapt instantly to a vocal range or a change of key. The instrument also offers 9 lists of 40 songs, with 4 settings per song—a valuable asset for organizing a set, practicing a repertoire or quickly recalling the right sounds during rehearsals.

USB flash drive storage simplifies the backup of programs and presets, making concert preparation much more convenient. This approach to quick storage and instant recall is particularly useful for keyboard players working with several bands or covering multiple sound registers within the same set.

Advanced Functions

The MKII Compact was designed as a true control centre for live performance. It features MIDI In, MIDI Out and USB connections, with MIDI and audio via USB host functionality. Its USB device port allows programs to be stored on a flash drive, while its numerous control inputs enable highly advanced setups with sustain pedals, footswitches, foot controllers and foot-operated program changes.

The onboard controllers, including pitch bend and modulation wheels, further expand its expressive capabilities. The main and auxiliary stereo audio outputs make it easy to integrate the instrument into a sound system, personal monitoring setup or more elaborate studio configuration. This is an instrument that fully embraces its professional purpose while remaining compact and portable.
