Historical Context and Positioning in the Range
With the amPlug 3 US Silver, VOX unveils the 3rd generation of its amPlug format, designed for headphone practice and spontaneous inspiration. This version marks a real step forward in the lineup: redesigned analog circuit for a more musical sound, effects now in stereo, and the addition of a drum machine across all models. The US Silver positions itself as the "vintage US combo" variant, ideal for guitarists seeking an expressive clean and light crunch typical of American amps from the sixties.
Who This Amp Is For
The VOX amPlug 3 US Silver is aimed at beginner to advanced guitarists who want a credible sound without carrying a combo amp or turning on a computer. It is perfect for practicing at home with headphones, warming up backstage, or composing on the go with a minimal setup. In terms of styles, the "US" voicing and its two channels naturally cover blues, rock, pop, soul, and jazz (with a spacious clean), with the possibility to push towards an edge of breakup and a smooth overdrive for more biting rhythm parts.
