A Nod to VOX's Sixties Heritage
Following the line of iconic VOX models from the 1960s, the Vox APC-1 "Blue Apache" reinterprets the vintage spirit with modern features. This portable electric guitar condenses the VOX experience into a standalone instrument designed for creating, practicing, and performing without constraints.
Who Is It For and What For?
Perfect for beginners as well as intermediate players looking for an inspiring travel guitar. Clear tones, expressive crunch, or sustained saturation depending on gain settings and boost: it covers rock, pop, blues, funk, R&B, and beyond. The integrated drum machine and effects make it ideal for working on timing, improvising, and composing wherever you are.
The Sound
The single pickup delivers a responsive attack and clear dynamics, enhanced by the built-in analog amplifier. The gain control and BOOST function evolve the tone from bright clean to gritty overdrive, while TONE and VOLUME refine the overall balance. The onboard effects add depth (reverb), width (chorus), movement (tremolo), and space (delay), with a TAP tempo to lock in the groove. The poplar body and maple neck provide clarity and attack, while the purple heart fingerboard promotes note articulation and precise sustain.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
For optimal playability, choose electric guitar strings in gauges 9-42 or 10-46 (compatible with the 24" scale length). Use quality AA batteries or rechargeable AA NiMH batteries for power. A universal clip-on tuner makes silent tuning easy anywhere, and a standard folding stand secures the instrument between sessions.
