What Waldorf Edition 2 Is For
Waldorf Edition 2 is a plug-in suite designed to compose, produce, and design sounds in all styles related to electro, pop, film music, and club production. The bundle combines an expressive wavetable instrument (PPG 2.2V) for pads, leads, and evolving textures, a percussion synthesizer (Attack) to create kits, kicks, snares, and dynamic sequences, and an effects module (D-Pole) focused on filtering and controlled destruction to add movement, warmth, and character to any track.
Main Features
PPG 2.2V: The Iconic Wavetable Synthesis
PPG 2.2V is a virtual reincarnation inspired by the famous PPG synths, known for their hybrid timbres blending digital bite and analog energy. Ideal for evolving pads, leads that cut through the mix, and retro-futuristic sounds, it offers a vast library and architecture tailored for modern production, with a syncable arpeggiator and 8-part multitimbrality to layer sounds without leaving your DAW.
Attack: Percussion Synthesis from Vintage to Modern
Attack is a percussion synthesizer with virtual analog-style sound generation, designed to recreate both the impact of 80s drum machines and the 90s electronic aesthetic, while fitting perfectly in a modern production environment. Sounds are generated in real time, allowing you to modify every parameter on the fly: ideal for automation, timbre variation, and building expressive kits that evolve throughout the track.
D-Pole: Versatile Filter and Character Effects
D-Pole completes the bundle with a focus on creative filtering and sound processing. Featuring filter modes, sample rate reduction, ring modulation, massive overdrive, and stereo delay, it enables everything from subtle coloration to radical transformation. Perfect on drums, basses, synths, vocals, or buses to add movement, grain, and intensity with the typical Waldorf sound quality.
Expanded Effects Section on Attack
In this Edition 2, Attack benefits from a significantly expanded effects section, convenient for finalizing a kit directly within the instrument: delay for space, equalization for shaping, drive for attack, modulation for animation, and reverb to place elements in a coherent environment. A real time saver to get drums ready to mix without multiplying external effect instances.
