The phaser is one of the most iconic modulation effects for guitar: it creates an organic sense of movement by sculpting the spectrum with rotating peaks and notches. Here, the approach goes beyond a "one sound" phaser: the choice of 4 or 6 stages truly changes the sweep structure, while the D-P-V control adds a modern dimension by allowing precise blending of the dry signal, phase, and even moving towards a more pronounced vibrato.

Who is this phaser best suited for, and in which styles?

This pedal is aimed at guitarists and bassists who want an analog modulation that is both easy to integrate and deep enough for sound design. In clean settings, it adds depth to arpeggios (funk, pop, indie); with overdrive or fuzz, it becomes more edgy and psychedelic (rock, stoner, prog). The 4-stage mode is ideal for thickening a sound without overwhelming it, while the 6-stage mode excels when seeking a more "filtered," lively effect, perfect for intros, bridges, or studio textures.

On a pedalboard, it works well both before distortion for a tighter, more responsive phaser, and after for a wider, more "liquid" movement. Live, the Momentary mode is a real asset: you can punctuate a rhythm with a touch of modulation without having to choreograph a constant tap-dance.

Controls, modes, and ergonomics: everything to sculpt your movement

The settings cover essentials and refinement. Rate controls the modulation speed, from slow, hypnotic waves to fast pulses. Width adjusts the sweep amplitude: low for subtle animation, higher for a broad, confident effect. Feedback adds resonance and personality, enhancing the phaser's "vocal" character and its bite in the upper mids.

The Stages selector lets you switch between 4 and 6 stages : two distinct sonic signatures, as if you had two complementary phasers. Finally, the D-P-V control is the keystone: it enables a continuous fade between Dry, Phaser, and Vibrato. The result: you precisely adjust the effect's presence in the mix, and you can shift from a discreet "always-on" phaser to a more pronounced vibrato for specific passages without changing your other settings.

On the switching side, the Soft-Switch relay provides comfortable activation, and the True Bypass preserves the signal when the effect is off. The Momentary mode completes the package by encouraging expressive use: the effect becomes a gesture, just like a bend or a palm-mute.

The sound

Expect a full-bodied and organic modulation, typical of an analog phaser, with a beautiful sense of movement under your fingers. In 4-stage mode, the sound is often warmer, denser, and easy to place: ideal for thickening a clean tone, adding "swing" to a rhythm, or creating a subtle halo around open chords. In 6-stage mode, the sweep becomes more complex: the texture is more filtered and richer, perfect for expressive lead lines, psychedelic atmospheres, or studio layers where you want to hear the modulation "breathe."

Thanks to the D-P-V, you maintain mix control: staying close to Dry integrates the effect very musically; moving towards Phaser then Vibrato yields a more obvious movement, sometimes almost "liquid," with a stronger pitch sensation as you approach vibrato. The pedal responds well to attack variations and guitar volume: a great tool to move from subtle shimmer to expressive modulation simply through playing.
