What Waves H-Series Is For

Waves H-Series is a suite of processing tools for mixing and music production that aims to combine the character of analog equipment with the flexibility of a DAW environment. It is intended for both home studio users and professional engineers seeking a coherent palette to shape vocals, drums, guitars, synths, and mix buses. Thanks to its four complementary modules, you can build a complete chain (EQ, compression, spatialization, and delay effects) with a consistent sonic signature, from subtle "polish" to more pronounced effects.

Main Features

H-Delay: delay and modulation effects laboratory

H-Delay covers a wide range of delay-based effects, from clean and modern echoes to more lo-fi textures inspired by vintage tape and circuits. It easily creates slapbacks for vocals, tempo-synced delays for guitars, chorus and vibrato effects, as well as more extreme ambiances thanks to feedback possibilities. The BPM sync facilitates integration into rhythmic sessions, whether you work in pop, rock, hip-hop, electronic, or sound design.

H-Reverb: hybrid reverb, between algorithmic and convolution

H-Reverb combines the musicality and quick editing of an algorithmic reverb with a more realistic approach inspired by convolution, to achieve spaces ranging from classic to contemporary. The module also includes tools designed to better position the reverb in the mix, such as control treatments (e.g., ducking) to preserve the intelligibility of a lead vocal or snare drum. The result: more controlled depths without losing the "sweet" character of a reverb that blends with the source.

H-EQ: 7-band equalizer, from console color to surgical precision

H-EQ offers 7 bands with various console characters, ranging from vintage US and UK signatures to a more modern and precise approach. The originality: you can choose a different color per band, allowing, for example, a warm low band combined with a cleaner high band. The plugin supports mid-side processing to sculpt the center and sides separately and includes a spectrum analyzer to speed up EQ decisions, whether for corrective EQ or tonal shaping.

H-Comp: tube charm compression with modern precision

H-Comp targets the punch and density typical of tube circuits, transformers, and transistors, while maintaining a modern and controllable response. It suits both parallel compression (to thicken drums or vocals) and more subtle bus control. You can choose among several analog personalities (or none) to tailor the color to the source, from a pronounced character to more transparent compression.

The series emphasizes an "analog" feel down to the control responses: potentiometer curves are modeled to replicate hardware-like behavior. With MIDI Learn, automation becomes more tactile, ideal for "playing" parameters as on external gear.
