The Doom Hammer Fuzz fits into the great tradition of characterful fuzzes but with a very "field" approach. The story begins in 1998, when Jeorge Tripps modified a 1978 op-amp fuzz circuit for the band Oranger. The goal was not only to gain aggressiveness: he was also looking for a less pronounced mid scoop to avoid the "disappearing" effect as soon as the band plays loud or the guitar goes through a big amp.

Over the course of adjustments, the design was refined to offer tighter lows and better reliability in live conditions. Much later, a series of prototypes based on this original modified version served as the foundation for the Doom Hammer Fuzz: a pedal that claims the heritage of the great riffs of the 90s while remaining easy to integrate into a modern pedalboard.
