The Yamaha CP73 continues the legacy of the legendary CP models from the 70s/80s by adding modern ergonomics and a selection of "ready for live" sounds. It fits between 61/76-note keyboards and 88-key stage pianos, offering an excellent mobility/expressivity compromise for tours, studios, and places of worship.
Keyboard Design
The 73-key Balanced Hammer Standard keyboard (E1-E7) offers a balanced weighted touch, ideal for electric pianos as well as acoustic pianos. Its linear response and velocity sensitivity facilitate dynamic control, while the "E to E" format simplifies playing in a group. The aluminum casing, robust and lightweight, ensures high reliability on stage and on the move.
Sound Quality
The sound engine is based on high-resolution sampling complemented by VCM effects. It features Yamaha CFX, Bösendorfer Imperial 290, and Yamaha S700 grand pianos, upright pianos U1 and SU7, the legendary CP80, EPs (Rd, Wr, Clavi), and Sub textures (pads, leads, basses, strings). The Seamless Sound Switching function ensures uninterrupted transitions between sounds.
