A Clavinova CSP designed to learn quickly, play better, and enjoy yourself
The Clavinova CSP-255 is part of the CSP-200 series, designed to bring the acoustic piano experience closer while offering a modern approach to learning. Its concept is based on a "frictionless" use: you choose a piece, the app displays the sheet music, and the instrument guides you note by note thanks to the Light Guide. The result: easier progress, maintained focus on playing, and keeping the joy of playing at the heart of the experience.Keyboard Design
The GrandTouch-S 88-key keyboard aims to provide sensations close to a grand piano: mechanical with escapement, synthetic ivory and ebony key surfaces for better grip, and a response designed to work on dynamics. The touch sensitivity is adjustable (Soft2, Soft1, Medium, Hard1, Hard2, Fixed) to adapt the instrument to your technique, repertoire, and playing comfort. On the control side, the CSP-255 features 3 pedals (Damper with half-pedal function, Sostenuto, Soft), with assignable functions as needed.Sound Quality
The sound base relies on the Yamaha CFX and Bösendorfer Imperial pianos, complemented by advanced expressiveness technologies: Virtual Resonance Modeling (VRM) to simulate the complex resonances of a piano, and Grand Expression Modeling to more finely translate playing intentions (attack, speed, intensity) into timbre variations. With a maximum polyphony of 256 notes and a 2 x 40 W amplification system powering 2 speakers of 16 cm, the CSP-255 offers a solid sound presence, suitable both for daily practice and enjoying an inspiring sound at home.Built-in Effects

Questions frequently asked
Does the Yamaha CSP255 have a weighted keyboard with escapement?
The GrandTouch-S 88-key keyboard features an escapement mechanism and synthetic ivory and ebony key surfaces. The sensitivity is adjustable across six curves, from Soft2 to Hard2, with a Fixed mode.
How does the Light Guide work for learning pieces?
The keys light up to guide playing note by note in conjunction with the Smart Pianist app. Modes such as Correct Key, Any Key, Karao-Key, and Your Tempo allow the piece to wait for the correct note. The tempo can also be slowed down, and practice can be isolated to the right or left hand.
What piano sounds are built-in?
The sound is based on the Yamaha CFX and Bösendorfer Imperial pianos, featuring 256-note polyphony, VRM, and Grand Expression Modeling.
Is it possible to connect headphones, a microphone, and a phone?
There are two headphone outputs, a microphone input, and a line input. Audio Bluetooth allows streaming sound from a compatible device, while Bluetooth MIDI provides wireless connection to Smart Pianist depending on the country. A USB to Host connection and MIDI DIN I/O complete the connectivity.
Does the piano allow recording compositions?
MIDI recording is available on 16 tracks in SMF 0 format. Audio recording via USB is also supported, depending on the capabilities of the connected device.
