A subwoofer designed to complement the DZR series

The Yamaha DXS15-XLF was designed to naturally complement the DZR series speakers, with a "performance + control" oriented approach. Its format remains compact for a 15-inch subwoofer, while targeting very low extension and high acoustic pressure to provide coherent bass reinforcement for live, DJ, or installation setups. It fits within a system logic: same digital processing philosophy, same reliability standards, and management functions (presets, routing, delay) that simplify alignment with the rest of the sound system.

Who is it for and what are its uses?

This active subwoofer is aimed at service providers, DJs, bands, and venues that want deep bass without sacrificing clarity. It is suitable for both front-of-house (FOH) use and more technical configurations (stacking, time alignment, directivity management), notably thanks to the cardioid mode. With its high output level and integrated DSP control, the DXS15-XLF is suited for medium to large stages, as well as fixed installations requiring clean, stable, and repeatable bass from one event to another.

DSP processing, control, and performance: a modern and mastered subwoofer

96 kHz DSP and FIR filtering: precision and phase coherence

The DXS15-XLF features 96 kHz digital processing (96 kHz AD/DA converters) and internal filtering announced at 96 kHz with FIR filter. The goal is clear: preserve low-frequency definition, improve coherence with the tops, and offer a "cleaner" bass feel, especially noticeable on kick drum, bass guitar, and electronic impacts.

Accessible DSP functions: presets, equalization, delay, and routing

To quickly adapt to the room and system, Yamaha emphasizes ergonomics: access to DSP functions (loading presets, parametric equalization, delay, and routing) is intuitive via the LCD screen. In practice, this saves setup time and ensures reliable settings, whether you work in touring or installation.

D-XSUB, cardioid mode, and protections: durability and control in real conditions

D-XSUB processing and cardioid mode expand bass optimization possibilities: impact reinforcement, cleaner resonance management, and, depending on placement, rear bass reduction for a more comfortable stage. All this is combined with protection circuits designed to remain reliable when levels rise, while maintaining clear reproduction.

Robust design: multi-ply enclosure and Polyurea finish

The multi-ply enclosure is coated with durable Polyurea, designed to withstand repeated handling. Two die-cast aluminum side handles facilitate grip. For transport, Yamaha offers optional cover and a set of wheels, convenient for gigs where equipment is frequently loaded and unloaded.
