Historical Context and Positioning in the Range
The crash cymbal has historically been the cymbal for accents and transitions : it punctuates choruses, highlights breaks, and adds an immediate signature to the groove. In the thin version, it is generally positioned as a choice oriented towards musicality and control : more sensitive to touch, easier to "speak" at low intensity, and often simpler to dose in amplified contexts or close-miking situations. The 20 in size adds breadth while maintaining the quick vibration typical of thin cymbals.
Who This Drum/Instrument Is For
This 20" Thin Crash cymbal is aimed at beginner to intermediate drummers looking for an expressive crash, as well as more advanced musicians seeking a bright/medium tone that is easy to exploit. It is particularly suitable for styles alternating between dynamic playing and nuances : pop, modern rock, funk, indie, worship, variety, and any context requiring broad but controlled accents. Its thin thickness also favors lighter playing (thin sticks, rods, edge playing) without needing to hit hard to achieve a clear opening.
