Historical Context and Positioning in the Range
Replacing the immediately recognizable character of the A' Zildjian is never easy, as this sound has become a benchmark. The A Custom is precisely positioned as a modern and sophisticated alternative, preserving the spirit of the Avedis sound while dressing it with a more current brilliance and precision. With the assistance of the iconic drummer Vinnie Colaiuta, the series was designed to offer a smooth touch, controlled projection, and musicality that works equally well on stage and in the studio.
Who This Drum/Cymbal Is For
The A Custom is aimed at intermediate to expert drummers seeking an expressive cymbal, easy to place within a band, and capable of covering multiple aesthetics without changing sets. Its balance makes it particularly relevant for pop, modern rock, funk, fusion, RnB, and contemporary music where a clear attack, nice openness, and clear definition are expected. It suits both stick playing and lighter nuances when a clean and sophisticated sound is desired.
