An "Acoustic Creator" designed to bring a pickup closer to the sound of a mic-recorded guitar
On an electro-acoustic guitar, a pickup (often piezo) can produce a very direct sound, sometimes dry or "quacky," especially in a mix or on a powerful sound system. The Zoom AC-2 belongs to the family of tone-restoration preamps/DIs: the idea is to rebuild the harmonics and body resonance to regain a more organic feel, closer to a mic recording. With its 16 "source guitar" models, it allows quick selection of a coherent base (dreadnought, nylon, 12-string, upright bass, etc.) and then optimization according to the pickup type.Who the Zoom AC-2 is for: stage, studio, acoustic pedalboard
The AC-2 targets the acoustic guitarist who wants a reliable and consistent sound from one gig to another, without relying on a mic in front of the soundhole. It suits singer-songwriters as well as musicians in pop, folk, country, worship, variety genres or instrumentalists alternating between strumming and fingerpicking. In the studio, it can serve as a quick chain to record an electro-acoustic live while maintaining a more credible tone than a raw piezo signal. On a pedalboard, it ideally sits at the end of the chain (or just after the guitar) to feed a PA, audio interface, or acoustic amp.Technical specifications

Questions frequently asked
Does the Zoom AC-2 work with a piezo or magnetic pickup?
The input selector supports both piezo and magnetic pickups. Its 16 "Guitar Source" presets then adapt the tone restoration to the selected guitar type.
What connections are available for a PA system and an acoustic amplifier?
A balanced XLR output allows connection to a mixing console or PA system. Two 6.35 mm jack outputs are present, including a combined MONO/PHONES output and a second mono output.
Does the pedal help to avoid feedback on stage?
An anti-feedback control is integrated to reduce problematic resonances. The dedicated ground lift can also help address some ground loops on the XLR output.
Can headphones be used with this acoustic pedal?
The 6.35 mm MONO/PHONES jack output accepts stereo headphones and delivers 8 mW + 8 mW at 32 ohms.
Which settings are footswitch-accessible on the AC-2?
The Boost footswitch provides up to 9 dB of gain to highlight a solo passage. The built-in LED chromatic tuner is also integrated for tuning on stage. Reverb and a three-band EQ complete the tone settings.
