From the H Lineage to Zero Stress: The Place of the H6Studio
A direct successor to the H5studio, the H6Studio expands the modular recorder concept by adding more inputs and a 32-bit floating point workflow that frees users from gain setting constraints. It features the high-end preamps from the F series and adds RF shielding as well as waveform display, making it suitable for professional use both in the field and in the studio.
Designed for Podcasters, Videographers, and Mobile Sound Recordists
Whether for multi-mic interviews, camera shoots, ambience recording, or rehearsals, the H6Studio offers robust capture, simple monitoring, and direct integration with video rigs. Lockable combo inputs, a wide dynamic range XY capsule, and wireless synchronization make it a reliable companion for demanding mobile sessions.
Key Features for a Modern Workflow
32-bit Floating Point and Level Safety
The dual-stage A/D conversion allows recording without clipping or gain adjustment, while advanced predictive limiters, high-pass filters, normalization, and vocal mono mode secure recordings in changing environments.
Readable Display and Field Operations
The 2-inch color screen, with French interface, shows levels and waveforms in real time to keep an eye on your peaks. A test tone generator and recording start tone facilitate post-production and camera synchronization.
Connectivity and Control
The USB-C port turns the device into a 2 or 6 input / 2 output audio interface while recording to an SD card. With the optional Bluetooth adapters BTA-1 or TCA-1, you gain remote control, synchronization, and timecode capabilities via the ZOOM Handy Control & Sync app for iOS.

Questions frequently asked
Does the Zoom H6studio record in 32-bit float?
WAV recording is available in 32-bit floating point up to 192 kHz. The dual-stage A/D conversion allows capturing sources without prior gain adjustment and without clipping.
How many microphones and sources can be recorded simultaneously?
The 6 channels allow managing multi-mic recordings. Inputs include XLR and jack connectors, while the supplied XYH-5e capsule integrates two 19.4 mm condenser microphones angled at 90°.
Does the supplied XY capsule support loud sound sources?
The XYH-5e capsule handles up to 140 dB SPL, with two condenser capsules in a 90° X/Y configuration.
Can this recorder be used as a USB audio interface?
Via USB-C, the device operates as a 2 or 6 input / 2 output audio interface at 24 or 32 bits, 44.1 or 48 kHz. Simultaneous recording to SD card is supported. In interface mode at 96 kHz, the function is limited to recording on card.
Are remote control and timecode available?
With a separately sold Bluetooth adapter BTA-1 or TCA-1, remote control, synchronization, and timecode become accessible via the ZOOM Handy Control & Sync app for iOS. A tone generator and record start facilitate syncing with a camera. The 2-inch color screen displays levels and waveforms in real time.
