Historical Context and Positioning in the Range

The Legend series is rooted in the great tradition of Turkish cymbals, where shaping, hammering, and finishing are conceived as distinct musical steps. Handmade in Uzunköprü, this crash highlights an "old school" approach: a lively, nuanced cymbal with a grain that develops over the course of playing.

Within the range, the Crash Paper Thin 20-inch model stands out as a particularly expressive option: thinner, therefore more responsive and easier to trigger than a standard crash, while retaining the 20-inch size for natural breadth and projection. It is a cymbal designed for those who want character without effort, and a wide dynamic range from low to high intensity.

Who This Drum/Instrument Is For

This crash is primarily aimed at intermediate to advanced drummers seeking a sensitive cymbal capable of translating touch variations (ghost notes on the edge, "caressed" crash, explosive accents). Thanks to its "paper thin" profile, it also suits musicians who prioritize musicality and nuance over durability for very heavy playing.

In terms of styles, it fits comfortably in any context requiring a warm and rich crash: vintage rock, blues, indie, pop, funk, jazz-rock, fusion, cinematic and ambient music. In the studio, its quick response and refined harmonic spectrum allow for placing accents without masking the rest of the kit, while maintaining a strong presence in the mix.

Features and Innovations

The core of this model is based on two strong choices: traditional manufacturing and intensive, deep hammering. The hand hammering densifies and complicates the cymbal's response: it multiplies micro-variations that give the typical relief of artisanal cymbals, with a less "smooth" attack and a more organic feel.

The paper thin thickness immediately changes the playing experience: the cymbal opens quickly, even at low volume, and requires less energy to produce a full crash. The result: more control at low levels, easier-to-dose accents, and a cymbal that "speaks" from the first contact. The 20-inch format provides natural breadth, useful for building crescendos, wide crashes, or breathing transitions.

Sound

The choice of B25 bronze (75 percent copper, 25 percent tin, traces of silver) directly contributes to the sonic signature: it generally produces a warm, harmonically rich cymbal with a strong presence without excessive aggressiveness. The spectrum is dense, with expressive low-mids and musical highs, which helps the crash remain clear within a band.

The intensive, deep hammering enhances the complex and textured character: the attack gains grain, the cymbal develops a more "alive" character, and harmonics overlap with a sense of depth. On a paper thin crash, this often translates to very fast opening, a wide but easy-to-control crash, and a response that faithfully follows the touch (from light brushing to strong accents). It is an ideal option if you are looking for a cymbal that brings color and movement rather than a uniform "crash noise."
