Allpedal: WGS manufacturing excellence serving a pedal with character

Allpedal is the "effects" division of the American manufacturer Warehouse Guitar Speakers (WGS), recognized for over 35 years for its guitar and bass speakers. This culture of precision and robustness is found in the Macrodose: a pedal designed as a professional tool, capable of being both reliable on a touring pedalboard and refined enough for studio recordings.

Highly attentive to visual appeal, the brand also takes care with aesthetics, featuring a housing with a refined design, elegant relief, and anodized knobs. A blank rear plate is provided to facilitate clean mounting with velcro and to protect the pedal over the long term.

An envelope filter for groove, textures, and synchronized movements

The Macrodose is aimed at guitarists (and more broadly instrumentalists) who want to make their sound breathe: funk, disco, neo-soul, rock, electro, ambient, modern jazz... It excels whenever movement needs to be created and a "phrasing" sensation given to the signal, even on simple parts.

In live settings, it allows locking pulses to the tempo and bringing out a riff in the mix with a very clear filter sweep. In the studio, its range of shapes and modes makes it a true idea machine: subtle auto-wah, hypnotic slow sweeps, tremolo-filter type effects, or staccato grooves like a sequencer depending on your settings.

Controls and modes: fine control from manual to tempo-synchronized

The concept of the Macrodose is clear: comprehensive ergonomics to control where the filter sits (frequencies), how much it moves (depth), how it reacts (mode), and which curve it follows (shape). The result: you can find the feel of a traditional envelope filter or move towards much more "modular" effects.

The provided controls cover the essentials of a modern filter pedal: Freq (LFO frequency range), Depth (movement amplitude / cutoff frequency), Res (filter behavior and accent), Vol (output level), Blend (mix between dry and filtered signals), as well as Warp (LFO speed control in manual mode). A toggle switch allows switching between three cutoff frequency positions, while the Shape and Mode selectors provide access to a wide range of behaviors (11 positions each).

On stage, the Bypass footswitch activates the effect, and the Tap / Hold footswitch triggers the LFO according to the tempo while controlling various functions depending on the selected mode. Finally, the EXP input opens the door to continuous control (ideal for "playing" the filter movement like an instrument or for smooth transitions between two effect intensities).

Sound

The Macrodose offers a filter identity that is both expressive and structured. With well-balanced resonance, you get a clear and percussive "quack," perfect for chicken-scratch and funky rhythms. By expanding the frequency range and adjusting the blend, you can retain the body of the sound while adding a very musical filtered halo, useful for arpeggios, clean lines, or more airy parts.

The LP / BP / HP trio truly changes the playing perspective: the low-pass provides round and warm movements, the band-pass highlights the vocal and "wah" character, and the high-pass can deliver finer, edgy, and sharp textures. Thanks to the LFO shapes and trigger modes, the pedal easily shifts from organic modulation to more geometric pulses, for original grooves that remain synchronizable and controllable.
