A Selmer-style Designed for the Manouche Repertoire

The Manouche M30 EN is part of the great tradition of "Selmer-style" guitars that have shaped the aesthetic of Gypsy jazz. With its small soundhole and lutherie focused on projection, it aims for a sharp and articulated output, highly appreciated for "cutting through" an acoustic ensemble (violin, second guitar, double bass) while maintaining a beautiful fullness thanks to the solid rosewood.

For Which Guitarist and Styles?

This guitar is intended for intermediate to advanced guitarists seeking a true Manouche response: quick attack, power in pumping rhythm, and precision in lead playing. It excels in Gypsy jazz, swing, and acoustic music demanding dynamics, but remains relevant for any acoustic approach where a clear, projected, and highly responsive pick sound is desired.

The Sound

The solid European spruce soundboard provides great responsiveness: attacks come out quickly, with a rich upper spectrum and clear articulation, ideal for fast phrasing. The solid rosewood back and sides complete the picture with dense lows, bright highs, and longer sustain, delivering singing solos without losing the typical precision of Manouche guitars. The small "O" soundhole favors a more concentrated and direct sound, often sought after for ensemble playing. The ebony fingerboard and bridge add further definition, while the zero fret nut contributes to a consistent response between open strings and fretted notes.
