A "Blue Line" Edition in the Ampeg Spirit
The SGT-DI Blue Line Anniversary Edition features the same functions as the "silver" version but in an exclusive finish that evokes the aesthetic of the original 1969 SVT "Blue Line." Designed to capture the Ampeg DNA in pedal format, it combines a musical preamp, a DI ready to send to the front of house, and a modern IR section to preserve the "amp + cabinet" feel live.
This limited edition comes with the 75th Anniversary IR Pack (models SVT-610HLF, SVT-810AV, and SVT-15E), loadable via the free Ampeg IR Loader app.
Who It's For, Which Styles, and In What Contexts?
The SGT-DI is aimed at bassists seeking a reliable and consistent Ampeg signature sound everywhere: rehearsals, concerts (to the mixing console), home studios, or as the "heart" of a pedalboard. It suits fingerstyle and pick playing equally well and excels in rock, punk, metal, funk, and pop genres thanks to its effective EQ and SVT/B15 voicings.
In silent mode, the headphone output and cabinet simulation allow you to work on a refined sound without an amp while maintaining natural dynamics under your fingers.
Controls, Voicings, and IR Simulation: An All-in-One Pedal
The gain section is based on Super Grit Technology, with an SVT/B15 harmonization switch to tailor the character (attack, thickness, grit) to your instrument and style. The 3-band EQ is complemented by a sweepable mid circuit, ideal for placing the bass in the mix, along with 3-way Ultra-Hi and Ultra-Lo switches for quick sculpting of lows and brightness.
The IR section includes six preloaded impulse responses, with three user-rewritable slots. The Cab Level control lets you adjust and save the amount of cabinet in the signal, and the IR Off mode completely bypasses the simulation if you use a real cabinet or another solution.
Sound
The SGT-DI delivers a full and defined foundation with a response that remains expressive depending on your attack. Clean, it provides a solid, articulate preamp perfect for a "mix-ready" sound. When driven, the SGT adds an Ampeg-typical grit: rich harmonics, tight lows, and presence that cuts through without becoming harsh, especially when combining the EQ, Ultra switches, and IR section to recreate the feel of a real stack.

Questions frequently asked
Does the SGT-DI Blue Line Anniversary Edition include cabinet simulations?
This limited edition comes with the 75th Anniversary IR Pack, featuring models SVT-610HLF, SVT-810AV, and SVT-15E. Six impulse responses are preloaded, including three user-rewritable slots via the free Ampeg IR Loader app.
Can this bass pedal be used with headphones without an amp?
The headphone output combined with cabinet simulation enables silent setup without an amp. The Cab Level control adjusts and stores the simulation level in the signal.
What Ampeg tone does the SGT-DI preamp offer?
Super Grit Technology provides two voicings, SVT and B15, to alter attack, thickness, and character. In drive mode, the SGT section generates rich harmonics with tight lows. The three-way Ultra-Hi and Ultra-Lo switches quickly shape brightness and bass.
What power supply is required for the SGT-DI?
An external 9 V DC power supply with center negative polarity is required, with a current draw of 500 mA.
Can the IR be disabled when using an external cabinet?
The IR Off mode completely bypasses the cabinet simulation when using an external cabinet or another simulation solution.
