A Modern Preamp in the Spirit of "Ampless" Solutions

The Simplifier Bass Master follows the DSM & Humboldt philosophy: offering a complete analog platform designed to go directly to a console (FOH), an audio interface, or an in-ear system, without sacrificing playing feel. Within the range, it stands as a particularly versatile bass solution with a very immediate workflow: set, route, play.

For Whom and Which Styles?

The Bass Master is aimed at bassists who want a mix-ready sound without multiplying boxes: headphone rehearsals, silent stage concerts, quick recording sessions, or compact touring pedalboards. It suits funk and pop sounds (precise Clean), rock and punk registers (more aggressive Hot), as well as modern and technical contexts where low-end definition and articulation are essential.

Thanks to the parallel blend and separate outputs, it will particularly appeal to musicians who like to keep a solid "clean" foundation while adding a layer of character, or to those who want to give the sound engineer real flexibility.

Controls, Routing, and Key Features

At the heart of the pedal is a 3-mode preamp (Clean, Comp, Hot) complemented by a 4-band EQ to shape lows, mids, and presence according to the instrument and context. The parallel chain allows mixing part of the signal while preserving firm lows, with a selectable low-pass filter to adjust the low-end feel.

The connectivity and loop assignment are real strengths: the Pre-FX loop can be placed in the preamp path, on the parallel chain, or on both simultaneously, allowing effects to be used differently per path (for example, distortion on one side and a clean base on the other) without complicated splitters. The XLR Main and XLR Parallel outputs allow separating processing for recording, reamping, or routing dedicated to lows.

Sound Character

The Simplifier Bass Master targets a very "instrument-like" response: clear attack, controlled lows, and dynamics that remain usable even when pushing character. The Clean mode emphasizes precision and low-end stability, the Comp mode provides a denser, more controlled feel, and the Hot mode adds bite to cut through a rock mix without losing the fundamental.

The analog cabinet simulation completes the package with a more natural and organic texture, helping to recover the feel of an amp/cabinet system, especially in DI: less harsh highs, better "seated" mids, and more coherent lows in a mix.
