An Interface Designed as the Hub of Hybrid Studios
The Horizon 32 meets the needs of professional studios that work daily with a large quantity of analog equipment. Housed in a 1U rackmount format, it packs an exceptionally high-density array of connections, allowing a mixing console, equalizers, compressors, external reverbs, additional converters and a digital audio workstation to communicate seamlessly.
Its 32 line inputs and 32 line outputs on DB25 connectors allow a large selection of equipment to remain permanently connected. This approach eliminates repetitive reconfigurations between sessions and considerably streamlines recording, mixing and mastering workflows. The interface thus becomes a true bridge between the flexibility of digital and the character of analog processing.
For Studios Equipped with High-End Consoles and Outboard Gear
The Horizon 32 is aimed at sound engineers, mixing studios, post-production control rooms and professional facilities requiring a large number of simultaneous inputs and outputs. It is particularly well suited to hybrid setups built around an analog console, an external summing unit or several racks of hardware processors.
Thanks to its numerous line channels, each device can retain its place in the studio routing: stereo compressors, vocal processing chains, mastering equalizers, external effects or console returns remain immediately accessible from the DAW. The increased convenience is especially noticeable when recalling sessions, switching projects and handling complex mixes involving numerous auxiliary sends.
High-Definition Conversion for an Analog Workflow
32 Line Channels for Complete Integration
The eight DB25 connectors provide 32 main line inputs and 32 main line outputs in a compact format. This connection density facilitates the integration of a large-format console or a complete set of external processors without multiplying interfaces. The studio remains organized, cabling is streamlined and audio paths remain available at all times.
Selectable reference levels of +18 dBu or +24 dBu ensure consistent compatibility with the various operating standards encountered in professional environments. The Horizon 32 can therefore be precisely calibrated according to the nominal level of the console, converters or analog equipment already present in the studio.
Conversion Precision and Extended Dynamic Range
32-bit / 192 kHz conversion is combined with a 133 dB dynamic range. This substantial headroom promotes detailed reproduction, with extremely low background noise and excellent clarity for complex signals. Low frequencies retain their solidity, transients remain crisp and the nuances of analog processing are captured with precision.
This conversion quality is particularly valuable when signals make several passes between the DAW and the analog world. External inserts, summing loops and console returns benefit from a transparent audio path designed to preserve the sonic intent of the mix.
A Dedicated Mix Bus for Printing the Final Mix
The Horizon 32 features inputs dedicated to the stereo mix bus. This function makes it possible to re-record the final mix directly into the audio software without using channels already assigned to external equipment. The mix return remains independent from the rest of the routing, simplifying the printing of an analog mix or the monitoring of a summing chain.
Dedicated stereo monitoring outputs complete the setup. They provide an independent reference monitoring path, making it easy to maintain a clear monitoring route without disrupting the outputs used for processing, console sends or effects returns.
Ultra-Low Latency and Centralized Control
With round-trip latency of just 0.99 ms at 192 kHz with a 64-sample buffer, the Horizon 32 promotes natural interaction between analog equipment and native processing. Monitoring and external inserts become more responsive, including in productions where plug-ins and hardware are used simultaneously.
The Horizon Control software centralizes routing, the virtual patchbay, customizable monitoring and detailed level metering. It also includes a comfort reverb intended for monitoring during production. Mono, polarity inversion, Dim attenuation and reference level functions facilitate the quick checks that are essential during demanding sessions.
