A Modern Tribute to the OB Grain, in Desktop Format
The Behringer UB-Xa is designed as a respectful reinterpretation of a classic in analog synthesis: the OB-Xa. It captures its sonic spirit and "one knob per function" approach while adding current features for stage and studio use. Its desktop format facilitates integration into a compact setup, and it can also be rack-mounted thanks to the included brackets.
Who Is It For, and What Uses?
The UB-Xa targets experienced musicians as well as synth enthusiasts seeking a truly expressive polyphonic analog synth, capable of wide pads, synth brass, cutting leads, and solid basses. It excels particularly in synthwave, pop, electro, techno, ambient, and sound design. In the studio, it shines with its versatility and preset memory; live, its dedicated controls and bi-timbrality allow quick transitions and immediate layering.

Good equipment, it's a good synth, with very precise envelopes and a very nice filter. A slightly different game, easy to learn when you already know a bit and everything is at your fingertips, it is very pleasant.
The desk model is very practical, space-saving and good ergonomics, lightweight too. It's intuitive too. I was looking for the Oberheim sound with good polyphony. The compromise is there. Not the means to go to Oberheim directly but I imagine the wow effect of more power on Oberheim must be striking considering what I already have with the UB-xa.
The finish is sufficient. I recommend pairing it with a good 61 key master keyboard to appreciate octaves.Automatically translated

Can the Behringer UB-XA D be rack-mounted?
The desktop format fits into a compact setup and rack mount brackets are included.
What polyphony and sound architecture does this synth offer?
The 16 voices each rely on 2 VCOs, totaling up to 32 oscillators operating polyphonically. The VCOs are based on 3340 designs and offer sawtooth, triangle, and square waves with variable pulse width. The analog filter per voice features a selectable slope of 12 or 24 dB with adjustable resonance.

MPE compatibility enables controlling multiple parameters per note from a multidimensional controller. Velocity and aftertouch can also be optionally used.
Can sequences and arpeggios be created live?
For performance, an arpeggiator and a dual-layer sequencer with real-time transposition are integrated. The 26 rotary controls provide direct access to main settings. The LCD screen and its encoder facilitate editing of the 512 user programs.
What connections are available on this desktop synth?
Two inputs are provided for an expression pedal and CV in. The servo-balanced outputs are designed to preserve signal integrity in the studio.
