Summary of This Method

Designed to reinforce the fundamentals of musical training in Cycle II, 2nd year, this method offers a guided progression that places aural skills at the heart of learning. The work is organized around structured listening "in all its aspects," to understand how a piece is constructed, develops, and is recognized. Thanks to the "user guide," the student learns to place clear markers on form (sections, contrasts, returns, articulations), before moving on to listening and solfège exercises designed to consolidate reading, analysis, and musical memory.

The whole alternates observation, training, and application, in a smooth and coherent flow. The activities can directly support instrumental or vocal practice: listening better to interpret, anticipate, phrase, and understand musical intention. By exploring styles and aesthetics from the 14th to the 20th century, the student develops their culture, refines their analytical vocabulary, and opens up to simple historical research, useful for giving meaning to the works. Used in class or at home, this method aims for autonomy: younger students find a reassuring framework, while more advanced ones can progress self-taught thanks to the answer keys and audio support.
