Within the Constellation HD family, the ATEM 1 M/E Constellation HD positions itself as a compact SDI-oriented solution capable of delivering a "broadcast" logic in a 1U format (2/3 rack width). It features ATEM ergonomics and essential live production fundamentals with a very current approach: integrated conversions on each input, USB-C output in "webcam" mode, support for talkback and mix-minus, and an internal timecode generator to streamline capture workflows. The result: a video switcher that fits equally well in a fixed control room or an event production case.

The 10 SDI inputs facilitate managing multiple cameras and players, while the 6 SDI outputs (configurable as AUX, program, or preview according to your needs) simplify distribution to room monitors, recorders, LED walls, stage returns, or monitoring systems. Thanks to the Ethernet connection, control can be done via software, an optional hardware panel, and integrated into a studio network infrastructure.

Branding, Keying, and Transitions: A More "On-Air" Look

To move from a simple switch to a higher-quality production, this model includes 4 advanced chroma keyers, a DVE, and a stinger transition. You can create dynamic branding, cleaner green screen keying, picture-in-picture effects, and more polished transitions, all in real time. The 2 media players (fill and key) facilitate inserting logos, cards, jingles, and clips for a consistent visual identity throughout the production.

28-Channel Audio and Low Latency for Returns

The 28-channel audio mixer offers a comprehensive approach for clean broadcast sound, with 6-band parametric equalization and dynamics processing (expander, gate, compressor, limiter). The announced processing latency of less than 10 lines enables sharp cuts and more precise returns, especially when the control room must simultaneously manage video, audio, and stage returns.

USB-C "Webcam": A Direct Gateway to the Computer

For streaming, integration is simple: the USB-C output behaves like a "webcam" source, allowing you to send the program to a computer without an additional capture card, in 720p or 1080p depending on the program frame rate. This is a major asset for lightweight workflows (videoconferencing, software streaming) while maintaining a professional SDI chain on the camera side.
