A Cloud Dock Designed for Collaboration, at the Heart of the Blackmagic Range
The Blackmagic Cloud Dock 2 was designed to address a very current reality in post-production: media must move quickly and reliably between multiple workstations and sometimes multiple sites. Within the Cloud Dock range, this "2" version stands out with a simple and efficient approach: you bring your own SSDs (BYOD logic), and the unit becomes a central sharing point optimized for low-latency exchanges over a 10G network, while still capable of synchronizing certain content to the Cloud. The result: a compact link bridging high-speed local storage and remote collaboration without imposing a heavy IT server.
Who Is This Network Dock For and What Are Its Use Cases?
This network storage dock is aimed at DITs, editors, colorists, assistant camera operators, multi-room studios, and creative teams who need shared storage that is simple to deploy. It allows centralization of rushes, proxies, and project libraries for simultaneous access via SMB or NFS, without a dedicated host computer. On set, it accelerates the availability of dailies and proxies. In the studio, it facilitates back-and-forth between editing and grading stations. In hybrid environments, it helps maintain production continuity through selective synchronization to Blackmagic Cloud and Amazon Web Services S3.
