The Teranex Express is aimed at teams who must manage heterogeneous sources daily: live production, multi-camera sets, events, corporate, capture, or post-production when media arrives in various frame rates and standards. It becomes a central link to normalize an incoming feed, feed older equipment, secure a monitoring chain, or prepare a "clean" signal for recording and broadcast.

Up/down/cross-conversion and real-time standards conversion

The Teranex Express supports a wide range of SD, HD, and Ultra HD conversions, with switchable SDI connections according to the standard used. You can convert to route a signal to a mixer, router, recorder, or monitor, while maintaining a coherent and immediately usable image. Support for 3:2 pulldown correction and insertion also facilitates integration of sources from different production chains.

Deinterlacing, noise reduction, and cadence detection

When the source is imperfect (interlaced content, noisy images, "edited" media), the Teranex Express relies on high-quality deinterlacing and noise reduction to preserve maximum detail without introducing artifacts. Automatic frequency detection, edited content removal and correction, as well as scene cut detection improve conversion stability, especially on edited programs.

Frame respect and rendering control

The aspect ratio conversion is adjustable to properly handle framing differences between standards. Going further, the Teranex Express also includes color correction and proc-amp control, useful for quickly harmonizing a signal before broadcast or securing display across a screen fleet.

Multichannel audio, timecode, and Dolby compatibility

Beyond the image, the Teranex Express addresses broadcast needs: multichannel audio conversion and timecode, with preservation of auxiliary data such as closed captions. It handles up to 16 audio channels with remapping support, and a delay up to 1 second to facilitate audio/video alignment. On the Dolby side, it supports Dolby-AC-3 bitstream for all conversions, as well as Dolby E pass-through (except during video frame rate conversions), preserving professional audio streams when the workflow requires it.
