A Compact "Broadcast" Solution in the Web Presenter Range
The Blackmagic Design Web Presenter HD follows Blackmagic's philosophy: making broadcast workflows accessible, reliable, and easy to deploy. The idea is to offer the approach of a modern broadcast transmitter, but in a compact format designed for control rooms, studios, events, and mobile productions. Everything here is focused on stability: a hardware streaming engine, network connections suited for broadcasting, and integrated technical monitoring to maintain control even when working quickly.
Who It's For and Use Cases in Studio, Control Room, and Events
The Web Presenter HD is designed for creators and technicians who want to stream live from an SDI source (camera, video mixer, control room output) with quick setup and minimal variables. It is particularly suitable for video podcast studios, concert recordings, conferences, classrooms, and live service providers who need a ready-to-go device without relying on an expensive computer or complex software setup.
Another key strength is versatility. You can opt for 100% standalone streaming via network, or integrate the Web Presenter into your existing chain by sending the signal to a computer as a USB-C webcam source to use your usual tools (videoconferencing platforms, streaming software, recording, graphics, etc.).

Questions frequently asked
Can a live concert be streamed directly from an SDI camera?
The SDI input allows connection to a camera, video mixer, or control room output. The hardware encoder then streams via RTMP over Ethernet, up to 1080p.
Does the Blackmagic Design Web Presenter HD work with YouTube Live and Twitch?
RTMP streaming is compatible with YouTube Live, Facebook Live, Twitter, and Twitch. Wowza Streaming Engine is also among the supported services and software.
How to use a 4G or 5G connection for live streaming?
An Apple or Android smartphone can be connected via USB to use its 4G or 5G mobile data. A priority connection can be set to keep the mobile network as a backup when Ethernet is the primary connection. Two USB-C ports are available, front and rear.
Can it be used as a USB webcam for OBS or Skype?
The USB-C connections are recognized as a webcam by the computer. Integration is therefore possible with Open Broadcaster and Skype, as well as with compatible streaming or video conferencing software.
What outputs are available to monitor a live stream?
The HDMI output provides monitoring with image, audio levels, meters, and SDI information. An SDI output and an SDI loop complete the connectivity, while the 2.2-inch color display shows status on the front panel.
