Buffet Crampon RC Prestige Bb (18 Keys) - BC1108L-2-0

Buffet Crampon Expertise: French Tradition and Manufacturing Excellence

A historic reference in clarinets, Buffet Crampon is renowned for the consistency of its manufacturing and the quality of its mechanism. On this Bb model, every step aims for precision: wood selection, natural finishing, meticulous preparation of the bore holes, then complete adjustment of the mechanism. The result is an instrument designed to offer reliable response, stable intonation, and refined playing feel, in line with the demanding standards that have built the brand's reputation.

For Which Musician and Styles?

This Bb clarinet is intended for clarinetists seeking a serious, comfortable, and durable instrument: advanced students, conservatory musicians, discerning amateurs, and orchestral, wind band, or ensemble contexts. Its design emphasizes register homogeneity and mechanical precision, valuable qualities in classical music, chamber music, but also in popular music and fanfare/wind band settings, where projection and reliability matter daily.

Sound and Design

Grenadilla (Dalbergia Melanoxylon) is appreciated for its dense and nuanced timbre, with a beautiful presence and good sound retention. The poly-cylindrical bore contributes to overall balance and stability of sound production, while the Prestige special bore bell promotes structured projection and clear articulation. Mechanically, the maillechort keys cold-forged then coppered and silver-plated, combined with blued steel springs (needle and flat springs), aim for an action that is both precise and smooth. The GT pads complete the setup for reliable sealing, essential for ease of sound production and intonation.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

To get the most out of your Bb clarinet, you can pair it with Bb clarinet reeds (strength adapted to your level), cork grease for tenon maintenance, as well as a swab and a ligature cover to protect and care for the instrument daily.
