Keyboard Design
At the heart of the CDP-S160 is an 88-key keyboard equipped with the Scaled Hammer Action Keyboard II mechanism. The touch is graded (hammer action): firmer in the bass and softer in the treble, just like an acoustic piano, which helps develop consistent technique and good arm weight control. The touch response is adjustable via 3 sensitivity levels or can be turned off to suit learning, style variations, or more regular metronome practice.
Sound Quality
The CDP-S160 keeps it simple with 10 built-in tones covering the most common needs (piano, accompaniment textures, classic colors). The 64-note polyphony ensures clean performance on everyday pieces, including when using the pedal or layering sounds. For quick familiarization, 2 demo songs allow immediate exploration of the character of the sounds and keyboard balance.
