PURE-D: Cort's Acoustic DNA Serving Great Value for Money
For over 60 years, Cort has designed guitars known for their reliability and excellent value for money. The PURE-D follows this philosophy with a simple and effective recipe: a traditional dreadnought, carefully selected solid woods, and craftsmanship aimed at delivering maximum musicality, whether at home, in rehearsal, or on stage.
For Which Guitarist and Styles?
Thanks to its dreadnought size and tonal balance, the Cort PURE-D is suitable for both the serious beginner and the intermediate guitarist seeking a versatile acoustic. It excels in pop, folk, chanson, country, and pick accompaniment, while remaining expressive in fingerstyle playing when a round and singing tone is desired.
Sound Characteristics
The solid Sitka spruce top provides clarity, projection, and a very dynamic response: the harder you play, the more the instrument opens up and gains fullness. The solid mahogany back and sides enhance the mids, delivering a warm grain and excellent clarity in the mix. The combination of ovangkol fingerboard and bridge contributes to a balanced output, with a clear attack and natural sustain. Finally, the bone nuts promote better vibration transmission, useful for precision, note sustain, and consistency across the entire range.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
To maintain the original feel and balance, you can opt for a set of D'Addario EXP16 strings (or any equivalent gauge set) when replacing strings.
