The SFX Series: Cort's Thin and Modern Format
At Cort, the SFX series embodies the contemporary electro-acoustic guitar: a slim body about 83 mm deep designed for amplified playing, a generous cutaway for easy access to the upper frets, and an arched back that compensates for the low air volume by enhancing projection. The SFX-FM stands out with flamed maple craftsmanship for a premium look.
For Which Guitarist and Styles?
Ideal for beginner to intermediate guitarists seeking a very comfortable folk guitar, the SFX-FM excels in pop, rock, modern folk, light fingerstyle, and vocal accompaniment. Its thin body naturally limits unplugged volume but offers excellent feedback control and exemplary comfort when amplified.
Sound
Flamed maple delivers a lively and precise response: tight lows, clear mids, and sparkling highs. The arched back adds projection and sustain despite the shallow body depth. When plugged in, the wood and preamp combination produces a clear and balanced sound, easily shaped via the CE304T's 3-band EQ, perfect for finding your place in a mix.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
Choose steel acoustic strings with a "Light" gauge 12-53 (or 11-52 for more flexibility), a capo specifically designed for folk guitars, and a soundhole humidifier to stabilize the instrument.
