Its "pro processor" approach relies on Linkwitz-Riley 24 dB per octave filtering, a standard appreciated for achieving more controlled band overlaps and a more coherent sum at the crossover point. Who Is It For and What Are Its Uses?

This stereo active crossover is aimed at users who want to get the best out of their powered or passive speakers (with separate amplification): sound providers, touring bands, demanding DJs, rehearsal rooms, places of worship, clubs, or fixed installations. In stereo 2 or 3-way mode, it allows energy distribution between sub, low/mid, and high frequencies depending on your system configuration. In mono 4-way mode, it becomes an effective tool for setups requiring more output channels or a more "system tuning" approach on a central sound source.

The 234xs uses high-precision Linkwitz-Riley 24 dB per octave filters. It is a relevant choice to fully exploit the characteristics of multi-way speakers and achieve a more homogeneous sound.

Practical Adjustments for System Alignment

Each output has its individual level control, an essential feature for quickly balancing your system according to amplifiers, speakers, and room acoustics. Phase inversion on all outputs facilitates corrections in case of phase issues between channels (for example, between sub and tops) and saves time during testing.

40 Hz High-Pass Filter and Bass Summing for Subwoofer

The 40 Hz high-pass filter helps limit unwanted very low frequencies, often sources of "rumble," headroom loss, and unnecessary speaker strain. For subwoofer management, the 234xs includes a low-frequency summing circuit : bass signals can be summed to provide a mono sub output, a common configuration in sound reinforcement to enhance impact and simplify subwoofer placement.
