The comparison with the DPA 4006 is almost automatic, and for good reason: there is an obvious kinship in the overall sonic character, the sense of air, neutrality, and the ability to "disappear" in favor of the instrument. This closeness is not only due to the nod of the "06" in the model number but to a design approach that prioritizes fidelity above all.

Where the 2006 carves its own path is through the capsule technology used in the 2000 series. DPA relies here on a specific architecture that retains the advantages of a small diaphragm (speed, precision, extension) while optimizing noise level and the sense of substance. The result: a microphone that behaves like a high-end model and very concretely redefines the quality/price ratio for demanding acoustic sound capture.

If you are looking for an omnidirectional microphone capable of capturing an instrument "as it sounds in the room," the DPA 2006 is a natural candidate. The DPA 2006A is delivered with the MMP-A preamplifier: an audiophile choice aimed at the lowest possible distortion and very faithful reproduction. For those prioritizing compactness, the 2006C version (with the compact MMP-C preamplifier) offers easier placement while providing a subtly different tonal balance, with the low register perceived as somewhat "fuller."

Finally, one of the great strengths of this family is its modularity: the DPA ecosystem allows you to evolve your microphone over time by combining compatible capsules and preamps, all without tools.
