A Collaboration Between Park Amplifiers and EarthQuaker Devices, Blending Heritage and Modernity

The Park Fuzz Sound captures the spirit of a vintage Park fuzz, with that "old school" germanium character: rounder attacks, thick saturation, and a lively response that varies with your playing and guitar volume. Where EarthQuaker Devices takes the concept further is in optimizing it for contemporary use: components selected to reduce background noise, matched NOS transistors for better consistency from pedal to pedal, and an extended fuzz range to cover everything from crunchy fuzz to saturated tornadoes.

Who Is the Park Fuzz Sound For?

This pedal is designed for guitarists seeking an expressive fuzz capable of moving from a slight grainy veil to a wall of saturation without losing the organic feel of germanium. It excels in vintage rock, blues-rock, garage, psychedelic, stoner, and any style requiring textured saturation that "sticks" to the pick. In the studio, it adds an immediately identifiable color and sits easily in a mix; live, it offers big sustain while remaining sensitive to the guitar's volume knob.

Controls, Bypass, and Power: Simple, Effective, Stage-Ready

The interface is straightforward with three controls designed to quickly shape your sound. The Volume adjusts output level to balance your clean tone, push an amp, or compensate for heavy fuzz. The Treble/Bass control acts as a wide-range tone knob: turning right thickens the sound and boosts low-mids; turning left brightens and adds bite to cut through a band mix. Finally, the Fuzz controls gain amount, with a particularly generous range from smooth drive to massive fuzz.

For integration, the Park Fuzz Sound uses a true bypass with electronic switching based on relays and a status LED. An important point for your signal chain: the audio signal does not pass without power. Power is supplied via 9V DC (center negative), and despite the germanium circuit, the pedal remains compatible with daisy chain power supplies thanks to its internal voltage regulation. Strictly adhere to the recommended voltage: do not use higher voltages.

Sound Character

Expect a fuzz with vintage grain and a very musical touch: dense, slightly compressed saturation with the "material" feel typical of germanium. Dynamics remain very present: playing softer cleans and refines the sound; playing harder thickens the saturation and makes it roar. The Treble/Bass control allows easy navigation between a dark, massive fuzz for riffs and a clearer, sharper fuzz for leads, all while maintaining rich texture and great interaction with the amp.
