What THE DARK SIDE Is For

THE DARK SIDE is a virtual instrument collection focused on sound design, created to quickly craft dark, tense, or strange atmospheres, as well as aggressive percussive layers and warped textures. It is aimed at composers, producers, and beatmakers who want to move away from "clean" sounds and inject grain, saturation, distortion, and radical effects into their productions, especially for film music, trailers, series, video games, and also metal, industrial, and hybrid orchestral tracks.

Main Features

A Palette of Processed and Unrecognizable Instruments

THE DARK SIDE's strength lies in its unconventional approach: some sources have been deliberately mangled, distorted, and transformed to become new instruments. This provides instantly inspiring timbres, perfect for building beds, accents, impacts, drones, or heavy grooves with a strong identity.

Fast Workflow for Composition

Since the sounds are pre-rendered and already "mix-ready" thanks to analog effects chains (vintage and tube), THE DARK SIDE integrates easily into arrangements without spending hours stacking effects. Instruments are organized by instrumental groups, facilitating the creation of complete and coherent tracks, from rhythm to harmonic layers.

A Recognized Production

Created and produced by Doug Rogers (EastWest) and David Fridmann (MGMT, The Flaming Lips), the collection targets a modern, dark, and impactful aesthetic suited to current productions. THE DARK SIDE has also won a MIPA Award.
