A "J-200" designed with a vintage spirit, at a Studio price
Part of the Epiphone Studio Acoustic collection, the J-200 Studio adopts the hallmarks of a classic: the J-200 silhouette (Super Jumbo), the long scale length, and the ornaments that have made this format famous both on stage and in the studio. The goal is clear: to offer an authentic, affordable, and reliable acoustic guitar, with a glossy finish and carefully crafted aesthetic details (binding, inlays, graphic pickguard), while integrating ready-to-play amplification.
For which guitarists and styles?
The Epiphone J-200 Studio is aimed at motivated beginners as well as intermediate and advanced guitarists looking for a versatile electro-acoustic. Its large Super Jumbo body is particularly suited for strumming (pop, rock, folk, country), vocal accompaniment, and broad rhythms, while still capable of beautiful nuances in lighter playing. In amplified configuration, it becomes a relevant choice for rehearsals, stage, and direct recording.
Sound
The combination of a solid spruce top and a laminated maple body aims for a sound that is both full and clear: spruce provides attack, precision, and reactive dynamics, while maple contributes marked clarity and good chord definition, especially appreciated on a large body. The long scale length of 25.5" / 647.7 mm favors slightly higher tension, useful for powerful playing with solid projection. On the amplification side, the Fishman S-Core captures vibrations at the saddle for balanced reproduction, and the Presys VT allows adjustment of volume and tone directly in the soundhole without compromising the top's aesthetics.
Recommended compatible accessories
This guitar comes with a standard gig bag, and you can complete your setup with a 9-volt battery (not included) required for the preamp operation. For other accessories (string set, strap, tuner, capo), compatibility depends on personal preferences and exact formats; it is recommended to choose according to your usual gauge and usage (pure acoustic or stage).
