A Signature Designed with Alexi Laiho to Extend His Legacy
An ESP artist since 2002 and a major figure in the modern metal scene, Alexi Laiho influenced a generation of guitarists with his sharp playing and creativity. After a first signature guitar released in 2006, ESP resumed close collaboration with him to develop new models, which he began using in the studio and on stage with Bodom After Midnight. These instruments pay tribute to his influence, with a Custom Shop design focused on performance and precision.
A Guitar for Shred, Heavy, and Surgical Rhythms
This ESP is primarily aimed at intermediate to expert guitarists seeking a fast, precise, and stable instrument capable of handling aggressive palm-mutes, nervous alternate picking, and high-velocity solos. The Flying format and lead-oriented ergonomics make it a natural ally for modern metal, melodic death, thrash, and any style where definition and attack are essential.
Sound
The alder body provides an effective balance between tight lows, present mids, and clear highs, ideal for maintaining clarity in heavy tunings. The ebony fingerboard enhances attack and precision, with an immediate response appreciated in fast playing. The 3-piece maple neck-through construction promotes solid sustain and a continuous feel across the entire neck. On the electronics side, the EMG HZ pickups offer a dynamic and defined foundation, while the active ESP MM-04 boost allows you to raise the level (up to +18 dB) to stand out in solos without complicating the settings: 1 volume, 3-position selector, maximum efficiency.
