Historical Context and Positioning in the Range
Designed for drummers seeking a darker color without losing the responsiveness of a thin drumhead, the Strata fits within a "feeling" and musicality-oriented approach. They are a relevant choice when you want to maintain breathability while favoring a more muted sonic signature.
Who This Drum/Instrument Is For
The Strata are aimed at beginner to advanced drummers who want an expressive drumhead on an acoustic drum kit. They are particularly suitable for styles where depth and nuance matter: modern jazz, rock, indie, pop, studio work, and any dynamic playing with brushes or sticks.
Features and Innovations
Thanks to their 7.5 mil single ply construction, these drumheads offer excellent sensitivity and quick response, with generous sustain. They emphasize mid-centered harmonics, which helps achieve a lively sound without harshness.
The Sound
The dark character of the Strata provides a sense of roundness and depth while maintaining a clear attack. The remarkable sustain extends the note and adds breadth to toms as well as the snare, while the midrange harmonics add body without excessive brightness.
