An Eventide Classic in Pedal Format: Studio Spirit on a Pedalboard

Eventide is one of the names that have defined the concept of "studio" effects for decades, with treatments that have become references on countless productions. The TimeFactor transposes this DNA into a robust and compact pedal, designed to offer rich, precise, and creative delays without sacrificing flexibility: two independent delays, varied algorithms, and truly usable foot control both live and in the studio.

Who the TimeFactor Is For: From Demanding Guitarists to Texture Creators

The TimeFactor is aimed at musicians who want to go beyond simple accompaniment delay. It suits both guitarists and bassists accustomed to simple settings and advanced users who program presets, sync to a set's tempo, or control their pedalboard via MIDI. Rock, prog, metal, pop, funk, ambient, post-rock: whenever clear repeats, stereo ping-pong, musical subdivisions, or evolving soundscapes are needed, it becomes a nerve center.
In the studio, it excels at locking delay to tempo, doubling a line with a second A/B line, or sculpting a wide stereo image. On stage, footswitches and instant preset access allow seamless transitions from a subtle slapback to a spectacular reverse, then to a rhythmic multitap, without breaking the flow.

Features and Control: Dual Delay, Presets, Expression, and MIDI

The heart of the TimeFactor is its Dual Delay logic: line A and line B each have their own time and feedback, enabling call-and-response echoes, "dotted" rhythms against quarter notes, or denser ambient layers. Instant Program Changes facilitate clean live changes, and synchronization via MIDI clock complements Tap Tempo to stay locked with a drummer, sequencer, or playback.
The pedal offers real-time control through its buttons and an expression pedal (for example, to evolve mix, time, modulation, or a set of parameters), as well as via MIDI. Finally, updating is simplified thanks to the USB port: convenient for upgrading the device and staying current without complex procedures.

Sound

The TimeFactor's sonic signature leans toward a clean, defined, and musical delay, with a quality reserve reminiscent of studio treatments: clear attacks, stable repeats, and a sound that remains clear even when pushing feedback. Depending on the algorithm, you move from precise digital to more organic vintage or tape colors, up to more "designed" effects (filter/pong, multitap, reverse) capable of transforming a simple phrase into a soundscape. The dynamics are responsive: playing harder brings out the presence and structure of repeats better, and the dry/wet balance remains easy to place in a mix.
Artist-wise, Eventide is regularly chosen by iconic guitarists for its effects, and the TimeFactor has notably been associated with musicians like Steve Vai and John Petrucci, as well as many users seeking a highly programmable delay.
