A Fender 12-string Designed to Expand Your Sonic Palette

With the CD-140SCE 12-String, Fender offers an accessible 12-string without sacrificing essentials: a solid top for response and projection, a Dreadnought body for volume, and onboard electronics to switch from home to stage in an instant. Its classic aesthetic is enhanced by a tortoiseshell pickguard and a glossy finish that highlights the craftsmanship.

Who Is It For, and What Styles?

This electro-acoustic guitar is aimed at motivated beginners as well as intermediate players wanting to explore the richness of a 12-string, along with stage musicians seeking a reliable and complete solution. It excels in pop, folk, acoustic rock, pick accompaniment, and adds superb texture to arpeggios and open "jangle"-style rhythms.

The Sound

The heart of the tone comes from the solid spruce top: bright, precise, and very responsive, it supports both energetic strumming and delicate fingerpicking. The scalloped X bracing helps the top vibrate freely, with greater breadth and better projection. The Dreadnought body enhances bass and power, while the 12-string setup adds that famous width and shimmer effect, with naturally generous sustain. Plugged in, the Fishman electronics with its built-in tuner provide clear and practical sound reproduction, with quick adjustments to adapt to the room or mix.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

To stay as close as possible to the original specifications, you can opt for a set of strings Fender 70-12L 80/20 Bronze (.010-.050) (reference: 0730070423), ideal for maintaining factory gauge and balance. The hard case is included, so no additional purchase is necessary for protection.

Hi, a great week playing with and my feedback is very good. For the price it's just amazing, and the fly case as a bonus... It's my second Fender electro, it was from 20 years ago and it was a bit boring... now it's really better.

The sound is clear and not too powerful but it remains well balanced; and as some 12-strings can do, it's not gring gring. I had the FG820 from Yamaha, it was much more powerful, a violin certainly better but the Fender is really softer for the environment and it sounds very good on an acoustic amp (a repeat with that does the job).

The cutaway and the glossy lacquer should play on the phonic softness. The first day I was skeptical, and then I quickly realized that it was up to me to do the job... Possibly when I have given it and given it again I will switch to a slightly higher-end Taylor, but to deserve it for me to give the best of this Chinese woman with a totally crazy value for money... so go ahead and play!!!!!

I've been dreaming of a 12-string electro-acoustic guitar for a long time. I chose this one because it was a Fender and I have always been very satisfied with this brand for my electric guitars.
