A Faithful Tribute to Mid-Sixties Telecasters
Designed in the spirit of the 1964 models, this Telecaster features the "round-lam" rosewood fingerboard, nitro finishes, and streamlined craftsmanship that enhance vibration. The Fender Custom Shop preserves the vintage aesthetics, feel, and tonal balance while incorporating modern comfort adjustments for uncompromised playability on stage and in the studio.
Who This Tele Is For and Suitable Styles
Built for intermediate to professional guitarists, it excels in country, blues, rock, and americana. Its dynamics, touch response, and clarity also make it highly relevant in soul, pop, and indie genres, whether played clean, on the edge of breakup, or with moderate overdrive.
The Sound
The selected alder offers singing mids and a very usable bass/treble balance, while the rosewood fingerboard smooths the high frequencies for a refined attack. The Texas Special pickups (with output higher than a strictly vintage set) deliver tight lows, present mids, and biting highs. The 3-saddle bridge enhances snap and twang, and the nitro finish allows the body to vibrate freely. The 9.5" radius and 6105 frets enable wide bends and controlled vibratos without buzzing.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
To respect the instrument's character, use nickel-plated steel strings 10-46 (original gauge). In addition to the included hard shell case, a padded Tele/Strat gig bag facilitates light travel. Add a leather strap for good support, a quality 6.35 mm jack cable, and a microfiber cloth for maintaining the nitro finish.
