A high-end Jazz Bass V at the forefront of the American Ultra II series

The Fender American Ultra II Jazz Bass V represents the most advanced interpretation of the famous five-string Jazz Bass in the American range. It retains the visual identity and tonal balance that have made this model so renowned, while incorporating modern solutions designed for the stage, studio and precise adjustments.

This limited-edition Gold Dust model stands out with its reworked body contours, premium roasted flamed maple neck and particularly comprehensive electronics. It is aimed at bassists seeking the familiar elegance of a Jazz Bass, enhanced by significantly more contemporary ergonomics and tonal versatility.

A 5-string bass designed for versatile and demanding musicians

This electric bass is particularly well suited to intermediate, advanced and professional bassists looking for an instrument that is immediately comfortable, precise and highly adaptable. Its long 34-inch / 864 mm scale length ensures consistent tension across all five strings, including in the low registers.

Its Modern " D " neck, Ultra Satin finishing and Ultra-rounded key edges encourage fast playing without sacrificing a secure feel. The sculpted heel makes it easier to move towards the highest frets, a valuable advantage for melodic lines, slap, solos and technical parts.

Thanks to its quiet Jazz Bass pickup configuration and active EQ, it handles funk, jazz fusion, pop, rock, gospel, soul, R&B, modern metal and music requiring an extended low string with ease.

From vintage Jazz Bass character to modern power without unwanted noise

The selected alder body delivers a balanced response, with tight lows, musical mids and clear highs. This tonal foundation combines with the roasted flamed maple neck and key, contributing to a lively attack, excellent note definition and an enhanced sense of stability.

The two Ultra II Noiseless Vintage Jazz Bass pickups deliver the open, articulate character sought after in a Jazz Bass, while reducing the unwanted hum typically associated with single-coil pickups. The bridge pickup provides precision, bite and midrange richness, while the middle pickup reinforces the warmth, body and depth of the low register.

The three-band Ultra II active preamp considerably expands the possibilities for shaping the sound. The S-1 selector located on the volume control switches between active and passive operation: passive mode preserves a direct, organic approach, with passive tone control available, while active mode provides detailed control over the lows, mids and highs. The mini mid-frequency selector, adjustable between 325 Hz and 750 Hz, allows you to adapt the instrument's presence to the musical context.

The HiMass five-saddle bridge contributes to stability, sustain and precise intonation. It supports either traditional top-loading through the bridge or string-through-body installation, allowing the playing feel and string response to be adjusted according to the bassist's preferences.

Recommended compatible accessories

To maintain the original string gauge and balance, this bass can be fitted with a set of Fender USA 7250-5M nickel-plated steel strings, .045-.125 gauge, designed for five-string basses with a 34-inch / 864 mm scale length. The factory-installed locking strap buttons also allow the use of a strap compatible with this type of attachment.
